My name is Shannan Duncan and I am the founder and member of a local group called Tri-Cities Single Parents (TCSP). Our group is a not-for-profit organization. Our membership is currently over 40 members. We are growing each week, with a late winter projected enrollment of 75 families. As of now, our members meet once a week for play dates, meetings and fun events.

The Tri-Cities Single Parents group was established to address the most fundamental problems that occur while parenting solo. We strive to offer support, training, connections and social interaction for parents in and around the Tri-Cities area. Our goal is to also enrich the lives of single-parented children. We do this by providing them the opportunity to experience activities which they normally, being in an economically challenged household, could not afford. These children are also regularly introduced to other children their age who relate to their family situation.
